Pep Guardiola’s agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, has insisted his client will not leave Manchester City for Barcelona.

The LaLiga giants have fired Quique Setien, following an 8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Guardiola’s side also fell at the quarter-final stage, following a shock 3-1 loss to Lyon.

However, the 49-year-old is well-revered round the Nou Camp, having led Barca to a stunning quadruple during his four-year spell as coach.

With his City contract due to expire next summer, there has been speculation that Guardiola could cut his time in England short, to return to Spain.

However, Orobitg told Goal : “Yes, Pep will stay at City 100 per cent.”

He added that it was “currently impossible” for Guardiola to rejoin Barcelona.
